Which of the stalker games is best

Better scanners don't just have better indicators. Better scanners are also needed for better artifacts to spawn, period. Echo: Loud beeps the closer you are pointing it to artifacts subtle constant beeping is "You are about to walk into an anomoly, idiot.

Bear: has an actual direction indicator. Veles: Actual display screen that shows exact location as a green dot. You're probably not seeing this until you are looting Mercenaries, getting lucky, or throwing down cash after shops get upgraded.

One of a kind sidequest unlocked Svarog: Shows icons for most anomolies so you don't have to squint and throw bolts so much, but still be careful when trying to walk between things.

Shadow if chernobyl and call of pripyat are both very good story. Call of chernobyl are more sandbox mode. Shredder View Profile View Posts. Last edited by Shredder ; 26 Sep, pm.

I prefer CoP but there is 1 problem with CoP Its so easy damn, you start with a good gun, with medkits, with food and you do some easy quests and you can rly farm that money fast and get good stuff. Shadow of Chernobyl was way harder for me, you always get low on ammo and meds, and damn that fights near the end in the power plant I didnt rly enjoy Clear Sky because it has a lot of bugs with the faction wars played the games only without mods.

And also in CoP you wont get randomly attacked by a group of Bandits cuz everybody seems to like you for some strange reason. Exilyth View Profile View Posts. Imho, a tie between SoC and CoP Shadow of Chernobyl, although it provides a lot of free play in most regions up to a certain point , is very linear in terms of story. Regions are a bit small, but full of life and detail. Getting out of Cordon can be difficult if you don't know about a little secret stash in the starting village.

Call of Prypiat has all the refined mechanics, like gear upgrades and repair and a story that can be played in different ways up to a certain point. It is also the most new player friendly mostly due to good starting gear and repairs. Has some tough choices to be made in the story. Clear Sky suffers a lot from the fights against bandits in swamp using only viper and sawed off for most of the large map , but does get better after that just like the peoples soup gets better after the cave.

Edit: Two quick questions: Does survarium have freeplay mode now and would you consider it a stalker game? Last edited by Exilyth ; 27 Sep, pm. Originally posted by Exilyth :. Even tho i like the idea that you can pick sides and i always prefered Sultan over Beard it makes no sense to me that they attack every other stalker but not you.

SoC had the worst ending I've ever seen in a game because I didn't realize that one of the random sidequests was actually important to the story. Pripyat is more polished overall than SoC but it just feels a bit more empty and soulless, SOC just a ton of atmosphere that few games can match.

I would get both for cheap in a Steam sale if you can. Clear Sky is just buggy garbage, there's really no good reason to play it compared to the other two. Some notification sound happens at random when playing Game Pass games.

The game which we can say almost comes close to Shadow of Chernobyl is Call of Pripyat. We can give you a small gist of the story in order to avoid spoilers. If you are one of those players who have played the first two installments, you will immediately notice the vast map that is featured in Call of Pripyat.

This shows the extent to which you will have to travel and explore when you are pursuing a mission. The developers have taken the environmental design up a notch in this pick and provided you with a lot of dangerous weather conditions or emissions, which depict the serious alterations that have taken place to the weather as a result of the nuclear catastrophes. The violent nature of the weather will force your character to take cover until the storm has past and then carry on with the mission.

The graphical enhancements are also seen in the gameplay mechanics which greatly improves your gaming experience even more. Other elements that make this pick amazing to play are the introduction of newer and smarter enemies that are very challenging to take down. Plus there are many new weapons and upgrades that you can avail off along with powerful artifacts that can enhance your characters abilities.

Falling at the end of our lineup is Clear Sky. The major reasons that Clear Sky landed up last is because the story is pretty monotonous providing little inspiration for you to carry out missions. The missions itself are extremely challenging especially with the faction wars feature.

Your opponents are able to take you down with precise shots and grenades which can kill you before you can even get a chance to do some serious damage. In addition to this there are even some awful bugs and glitches in this pick which tends to put you off playing, especially if you are in the midst of an interested part of your mission.

But there are also a few redeeming features of Clear Sky which may still make it worth a try for any hardcore FPS fan. The graphics seen in this one are very impressive and the design of the overall environment is quite realistic.

The designers have also put a lot of effort in the creation of the various kinds of monsters and mutated animals which have different approaches and styles when they attack you. So what we are trying to say is that Stalker: Clear Sky is still fun to play if you consider these attributes, but you need to have a lot of patience to put up with the glitches.
